Mijar Dasappa Kamath
Jayanthi       Subbaraya     Shivanand       Baby(Sunanda)
In Gowda Saraswath Brahmin community there was a tradition to
find grooms for alliance to their daughters from among the children of
the sisters. During the wedding the sisters extract promise from the
brother that any son born to the newly wedded couple be married to
the daughter born to the sisters. And in practice there are
marriages
conducted of children of either sex from among the progeny of the
brothers and sisters
(not among the progeny of brothers and
brothers) like it has happened in Mijar Annappa Kamath's progeny.
Sister Yamuna's son Gopalakrishna married Amba the daughter of
Yamuna's brother Manjunath Kamath. Mukundray's daughter
Vijayalakshmi married Ramadas, a son of his cousin sister Meera.
Meera was the eldest daughter of Mijar Dasappa Kamath. Mukundray
was the son of Manjunath, the younger brother of Dasappa.
Yamuna's married name is Kamala. Her younger brother Dasappa
helps her take care of her six small children. Nethravathi was
already a child widow by the time the small- pox epidemic struck
Adyar village and surrounding vast areas in the Canara districts.
Kamala moves to Mijar to live in her father's house along with
the child  widow Nethravathi and other five younger children. Later,
Gowri is married off to a Bhat groom of Gurpur: Vittappa Bhat,
son of Madhav Bhat.  And Sridevi is also married off to another
Bhat groom of Gurpur: Pandurang Bhat, son of Mukund Bhat.
Ramachandra and Gopala krishna grow up in Mijar and later in
Gurpur in their brother-in-laws' houses.

of Achuth Kini of Bantwal.
Yamuna (married name Kamala) becomes a
widow with six small children to take care of. She
moves lock, stock and barrel from Adyar to Mijar,
Mijar being her father's place.
Vittal married Sharada of Mulki village.
They had no issues. Vittal died in 1978.
Sharada died four years later.
Dasappa's first child
Vittal from his first wife
grows up to become
the famous
hotel-keeper
Vittal Rao
of Kakinada
on the
east coast of Andhra
Pradesh.
