GOPALAKRISHNA
(SON OF ADYAR MANJUNATH SHANBHOGUE

Gopalakrishna was highly influenced by the preaching of Swami Dayananda Saraswathi. He practiced the Vaidik Dharma of the Arya Samaj in written by the Swami. Gopalakrishna was performing Homa and Havana at home. Instead of the daily practice of Puja by other Gowda Saraswath Braahmans in the community, Gopalakrishna was performing the Havan daily in the mornings, especially after his son Dayananda took over the reigns of running his grocery shop.Radha Bai, Gopalakrishna's wife fully cooperated with Gopalakrishna in his belief of performing Havana daily and provided all the paraphernalia required for its performance. Gopalakrishna was guided by the Arya Samaj Mandir situated in Kadri Mangalore in his activities.

Gopalakrishna was highly influenced by the preaching of Swami Dayananda Saraswathi.
Adyar Gopalakrishna Shenoy was born on 21st September 1906 and expired on 8th August 1991, which is about 85 years of life. He left a house proerty of 24 cents in Mangalore.
There was a dispute between his children about the Will he had written. After a court battle of 17 years, the property was sold and the proceeds were shared equally among his children.
Radha Bai had passed away earlier in 1990.
The property was sold on 18th December 2009 after there was agreement for an out-of-court settlement.

Padmanabha, the youngest son of Adyar Manjunath Shanbhogue got married to Lakshmi Devi (maiden name Narayani) of Bantwal Bhami family.
Padmanabha passed away at 24 yrs. of age succumbing to the small pox epidemic of the year 1935 at Mangalore.
His wife Lakshmi Devi was 5 months pregnant when he died. Lakshmi Devi later gave birth to a girl named Kasthuri. Kasthuri married Ganapathray, a son of Sridevi.

THE LAST CHILD OF ADYAR MANJUNATH SHANBHOGUE

Padmanabha Shenoy died of small-pox while Kasthuri was still only a five month old foetus in her mother's womb.
Kasthuri suffered immensely and missed her father very badly.
She grew up in Bantwal and at the age of 16, she married Ganapathray Bhat, a son of Sridevi.
Sridevi was the older sister of Padmanabha Shenoy and wife of Gurpur Pandurang Bhat.
Kasthuri's younger daughter Mithra was renamed as Pavithra after she married Bhaskar Prabhu.
There are no pictures of Padmanabha the youngest son of Kamala and Adyar Manjunatha Shanbhag.
Padmanabha succumbed to smallpox in the epidemic that spread across south India in 1935. He was married to Narayani of Bantwal Bhami family.
Narayani was renamed Lakshmidevi after the wedding.
She gave birth to a baby girl about 3 months after Padmanabha's death.  This baby girl is Kasthuri Bhat now living in Mumbai.
